Historical Photographs
of Chapleau and its People

This photo collection was made possible by the volunteer work of Kenneth D. (Doug) Greig, Ludie O'Hearn, Rose Bertrand and Phyllis Prince, all of whom worked many hours to catalog the museum documents.

On Monday December 05, 1949 at 11:50 am the first Diesel unit came through Chapleau. Dr. Bill (C.W.) Pellow tells us this about the photo:

Dr. William Young in foreground. He is wearing the racoon coat. Dr. Bill was the only person in Chapleau who owned a racoon coat.

Left centre back without face is Billy Bowes, a CPR conductor. His cap is legendary.
